Registration Service Degraded — Engineering Update
We are aware that new account creation is failing for a large number of visitors. The cause has been identified as extremely high server traffic, which is, in fairness, exactly the problem we hoped to one day have.
Our engineers are provisioning additional capacity and expect the registration queue to drain shortly. Existing members are unaffected and may continue to log in normally. We thank you for your patience and remind you that gold has waited six thousand years; it can wait one more afternoon.
GOLDYTRON Surpasses 900,000 Vaulted Units
A landmark quarter for digital gold. Our vault cluster now holds in excess of 900,000 certified units on behalf of members in eleven countries and one unregistered maritime territory.
Retail WoW Gold (WOW) led the quarter on raid-night volume, with Classic (WOWC) close behind. Members holding 1,000 units or more across any instrument will find a commemorative badge in their Vault Locker™. The badge has no monetary value and cannot be traded, sold, melted, or removed.
Fellowship Gold (FLG) Joins the Spot Board
Following a successful pilot, Fellowship Gold is now quoted continuously alongside our WoW and Diablo instruments. FLG trades in whole units only and settles the same afternoon, traffic permitting.
Volumes are expected to stay thin for some time. Members are reminded that a narrow market is a sophisticated market, and should only be traded by those who have read the glossary at least twice. Please trade responsibly.
Season Roll on the 21st: Guidance for Diablo Holders
The next season roll lands on the 21st and is expected to reprice the Diablo board overnight. Diablo II Gold (D2G) has held up on steady rune-trade flow, while Diablo III Gold (D3G) continues to trade almost entirely on season timing.
Members holding positions in either instrument will be notified in their Vault Locker™, assuming the notification service is up. It was not up last season.
Scheduled Maintenance: The Zurich Mirror
The Zurich mirror will be taken offline for routine reconciliation this weekend. During this window, quotes may lag by up to four seconds and the buy screen may display a spinner of indeterminate length.
No holdings will be affected. The mountain remains cold, dry, and locked.
A Letter From Our Founder
When I started this company in a rented office above a print shop, people told me that gold could not live on the internet. They said it was too heavy. Too shiny. Too analog.
Today more than twelve thousand members log in daily to look at their number. I could not be prouder. To those still stuck in the registration queue: I see you, I hear you, and I assure you the gold will still be here.
